JV - Ali'i Keohohou
Ali'i Keohohou was born and raised in Newbury Park, California. Coach Ali'i grew up playing all sports but has always had a passion for volleyball. Coach Ali'i started playing competitive volleyball in 8th grade for Classic Volleyball Club. Coach Ali'i is an alumnus of Newbury Park High School where he lettered 3 years in basketball, 2 in volleyball and 1 in baseball - playing volleyball his sophomore and senior year as a defensive specialist he won the award for best defensive player both years. After graduating high school in 2005, Coach Ali'i spent the summer playing for SMBC under head coach Tom Black. For his first year of college, Coach Ali'i attended Brigham Young University, Hawaii as a part time student and then transferred to California State University Northridge. At CSUN, Coach Ali'i competed in volleyball for the Matadors from 2007-2010. Coach Ali'i currently holds the record at CSUN for digs per set, digs in a season, and also digs in a career. During his junior season Coach Ali'i was selected as an All MPSF Honorable-Mention. By his senior season the Matadors made it to the NCAA Final Four. Coach Ali'i graduated from CSUN with a Bachelor’s of Science in Recreation Tourism Management. Currently Coach Ali’i is part of the coaching staff at Newbury Park High School and spends the summers as a travel coach for Gold Medal Squared doing clinics at high schools around the country.
