Varsity - Jorge Ostrovsky

Coach Jorge Ostrovsky was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and immigrated to the United States in 1964.  Coach Jorge is a product of the Los Angeles City School system, where he graduated from Granada Hills High School in 1976.  It was at Granada Hills High that Coach began to play volleyball.  While attending CSUN he played for the Matadors volleyball team for 4 years as their starting setter. Coach Jorge finished CSUN and was hired by the Los Angeles City Fire Department in December of 1981 - and has been on the Fire Department for 31 years. Coach Jorge has been coaching for NPHS for the past 12 Years as the Varsity coach.  Coach Jorge truly enjoys coaching at NPHS and has watched the program grow over the years.  When Coach Jorge first began coaching at NPHS the program had trouble getting kids to come out for volleyball; but with the support of the community and the administration we have been able to secure more gym time and interest from the local middle schools in boys volleyball.  There are many to thank for the success of NPHS Boy's Volleyball; but mainly it has been the commitment of the players and that of the parents who continue to support the team.
